This new-build on the site on an old brewery had a light and fresh interior but lacked any imagination in the garden, being originally laid entirely to lawn. We were commissioned to create a light and relaxing space with a soft and naturalistic feel, comprising a variety of zones/rooms, that is easy to navigate and care for.
To achieve the brief, we first introduced raised planting beds made of oak sleepers from a sustainably managed source. This created the structure of the garden, which we then interspersed with dense planting, aggregate paths, decking and lawn to provide minimal environmental impact and to maximise biodiversity and drainage.
The planting palette for the project incorporated a variety of colours and forms to provide a rich tapestry of colours, scents and biodiversity.
